Scott W. Blackstone
Living in the Sarasota, Florida area for over 25 years, Scott knew he had a passion for law enforcement and public service when he joined the Sarasota Police Department's Cadet Program as a teenager in 1983. After graduating from Sarasota High School he attended Manatee Community College to study in a 2 year criminal justice program. He was hired by the Sarasota Police Department as a Police Officer in 1990. During his 15 year career with the police department, Scott was awarded several medals and accommodations as a patrol officer and a K-9 handler. Scott's career as a local officer and his extensive training background has enhanced his skill as a private investigator.
Christopher S. Hunt
Born on August 4, 1970, Chris spent all of his childhood and the early years of his adult life in upstate, New York. A 1992 graduate of Utica College at Syracuse University, Chris received a Bachelor's of Science Degree in criminal justice with a minor in abnormal psychology. After college, Chris began his official career in law enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff with the Oneida County Sheriff's Department. In December, 1996, Chris relocated to Punta Gorda, Florida and began employment as a Police Officer with the Punta Gorda Police Department. One year later, in December, 1997, Chris transferred to the Sarasota Police Department where he worked in the traffic unit for 1 year, the K-9 division for 1 year and patrol for approximately 7 years.
Both, Chris and Scott's past relevant work experience include:
- Handling calls for service, including homicide, rape, robbery, burglary and theft. These calls included the initial investigation, obtaining witness statements, securing the crime scene, locating and securing evidence and canvassing the neighborhood for any relevant information in locating a suspect.
- Proactively detecting crime through the use of surveillance based upon information provided by confidential informants;
- Enforcing the local ordinances and state laws and initiating arrests on individuals who have violated the law;
- Enforcing the traffic laws and initiating traffic stops and issuing citations to individuals violating the law;
- Proactively detecting and arresting individuals operating motor vehicles under the influence of alcoholic beverages and/or drugs;
- Investigating traffic crashes and determining who was at fault for the crash;
- Testifying in court and in case related depositions on hundreds of occasions.
Additionally, they have extensive training and hold certifications in the following:
- Certification as a laser and radar operator
- Certification in advanced D.U.I Standardized Field Sobriety Testing(SFST's)
- Certification as an intoxilyzer operator
- Certification in advanced report writing
- Certification in computerized forensic drawing
- Training in narcotics identification, investigation, and interdiction
- Certification as a K-9 Handler
- Certification as a Police Field Training Officer
- Deviant sexual behaviors and related criminal activities
